KEMOLUX metal primer - Anticorrosive alkyd primer

Although deterioration of metal in contact with its surroundings is inevitable, high quality protection could significantly slow down this process. Atmospheric erosions accelerate corrosion of metal surfaces, resulting, in the best case scenario, in a quite unappealing appearance of red bubbles on the surface. Finally this will cause cracks or breakages within the structure leading to total collapse of this extremely important material.

KEMOLUX metal primer is an air-drying anticorrosive alkyd coating with superb mechanical properties. The fact that this product has been on the market for so long speaks enough of its quality. Relatively simple application and acceptable prices are the reason why it is so widely used.

Application

It is used as an anticorrosive primer for all types of metal constructions, industry equipment and other metal instruments which are partly or permanently exposed to normal weather conditions. It should be applied on a well prepared metal surface (rust, grease and moisture free) by brush or roller; by spraying or by emerging the object into it; apply two coats, and wait at least 16 hours before applying the second coat. As a top coat we recommend using KEMOLUX synthetic enamel varnish.

Following products can be used as a top coat: KEMOLUX synthetic enamel varnish, KEMOLUX refinishing industrial enamel varnish, HARDLUX metal effect varnish and HARDLUX professional varnish. In order to obtain high-quality protection it is recommended to apply two coats of primer resulting in 60 micrometers thick dry film. Wait at least 16 hours before applying the second coat. Coating will be touch-dry after 3-4 hours in following conditions: 20°C with 65% relative air humidity and good ventilation. It will dry completely after 24 hours.

Coverage

13-14 m²/l in one coat on a smooth surface with 30 micrometers thick dry film.
