HARDLUX Professional varnish - Alkyd air drying enamel

HARDLUX Hammerschlag effect varnish is a rapid dry anticorrosive and decorative metal and wood primer based on modified alkyd binder, organic/inorganic pigments and silicon additives.

For thinning the varnish and washing the tools use only HARDLUX HAMMERSCHLAG THINNER!

Application on metal surfaces

It can be applied directly on a metal surface, but durability of protection (especially for non-ferrous metals) can be significantly prolonged by applying one coat of KEMODUR S UNIVERSAL RAPID DRY METAL PRIMER prior to applying HARDLUX Hammerschlag effect varnish.

It is applied on a solid, dry and clean surface, sanded with rough sandpaper using a brush or a roller (thinned with 10-15% of HARDLUX HAMMERSCHLAG THINNER) or by spraying (thinned with 30-35% of HARDLUX HAMMERSCHLAG THINNER). It should be applied in several thinner coats (especially on vertical surfaces) while respecting restrictions when it comes to spraying one coat over another. HARDLUX Hammerschlag effect varnish can be sprayed already 30 minutes after application of KEMODUR S, while the interval between two coats applied using a brush has to be at least 12 hours.

It is recommended that dry film thickness is around 100 micrometers! Stir the paint well prior and during the application! Check whether all corners end edges are covered (because the number of coats is restricted)!

Application on wooden surfaces

In order to obtain the best effect possible, it is recommended to apply a coat of KEMOCEL PRIMER FOR DRY SANDING to a wooden surface (especially soft wood), and then within 30 minutes wooden surfaces should be sanded, dusted and protected with a coat of HARDLUX Hammerschlag effect varnish. All refinishings or another coat of HARDLUX Hammerschlag effect varnish must be applied within three hours from the application of the first coat!
