How it is applied
Prior to applying parquet varnish, surface needs to be machine sanded; wax needs to be removed from the old parquet and old varnish needs to be thoroughly sanded. For final sanding use sandpaper no. 150. Resulting sand dust needs to be vacuum cleaned. Prior to usage, each component needs to be properly shaken! In a clean and dry bowl mix varnish and contact in volume or weight ratio of 2:1; let the homogenous mass stay for 15 minutes. Time for using (because of hardening) the mixture is 6-8 hours (that is why you should prepare only quantity of mixture sufficing for one coat)
It should be applied quickly and evenly in one coat by using brush or a special short-bristle roller. Three coats of varnish need to be applied on dry (moisture content of parquet 8-10%), sanded and cleaned parquet.
If you want to significantly accelerate process of parquet surface protection and keep light and natural wood colour or if you are renewing old previously protected parquet you should use MAESTRO preservation basecoat (1 coat of MAESTRO parquet surface, and 2-3 coats of MAESTRO PARQUET VARNISH MAT). First and second coat of varnish needs to be slightly sanded using sandpaper no. 150, and resulting sand dust needs to be vacuum cleaned; wash the tools using only with MAESTRO TOOL WASHING AGENT.
Time between applying two coats
24 hours, provided that working conditions are optimal (18-22°C, relative humidity 65%).
